Alexander McQueen passed away in February 2010. Vogue should commemorate the February 2015 issue to the amazing designer. A tribute to McQueen. What better way than to present some of his designs in an old fashioned, witchy vibe?
Dark colors and edgy style will be the inspiration. A collaboration between Wicca and the Grunge scene, the best of both worlds
Bringing nature to the city, mixing the worlds. McQueen wanted to show people that fashion society saw as strange was beautiful. He loved edgy patterns, structures, and textures,
Instead of doing the traditional, build a set. I want to use nature's canvas. Showcasing the Southern Midwest and it's under-appreciated beauty.
Stevie Nicks was a huge inspiration. Her style and the way her hair flowed was the cornerstone inspiration for an almost frizzed out, long, wispy hair style. Nothing pinned, just long and flowing.
Makeup will consist of a dark lined eye with smokey purples and greys for shadow. Lips will be a dark plum or oxblood. Nails on all the outfits, except the outfit with the strappy pumps, will be matte black. The Grecian inspired dress and fur vest will have finger and toe nails painted a metallic gold.
Outfit one will be shot on the bank of the North Fork river. Hair will be blown to one side as if a gust of wind had just happened. Outfit two will be photographed at the Grand Gulf in Arkansas. The back drop will give this a feeling of forever. The grand gulf is a collapsed cave that fills with water but has never had it's bottom found.
Outfits three and four will be shot together. The shots will be taken at Hog Danger cemetery. The cemetery gives an eerie feeling and is also surrounded by a field. This will bring home the original Wicca vibe. Nature being the focus in this shoot will emphasize the dark palate of colors.
Anna has the look of Stevie Nicks. I want her to wear outfit one and three.
Neele has stunning eyes and will wear looks two and four. Her shape will compliment the silhouettes best.
